Pala completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow
in 1992. He moved to Warsaw in 1995, where he quickly became the
darling of the nascent Warsaw ex-patriot community. His work
adorns several popular restaurants and clubs in Warsaw and is
included in numerous personal and corporate collections. In
1998, Mr. Pala moved to Miami, Florida, where he now lives with
his wife and two children. He describes his move to Miami as "an
accident," but he found its environment an ideal match for his
love of color and vibrancy in all its forms.
In his catalogue for Pala’s 2002
"Made in the USA" exhibition in Warsaw, Wojciech Tuleya,
Director of the Galeria ART, writes that Pala's paintings "on
that side of the ocean have a special perspective translucent,
full of warmth and with a different atmosphere than the one we
know [from his paintings in Poland]. In the bright sunlight of
Miami, Pala's paintings have become even purer, brighter. Even
more dominated by yellows, orange and blue. They are like
looking at the sun. Only the most prominent shapes can be seen.
The rest seems lost in a luminous glow."
Pala has been featured in dozens of
solo exhibitions and numerous other exhibitions in Poland, the
United States, France, Finland, the Netherlands and Germany.
